Thank you Grammy and PawPaw!

Thanks Grammy and PawPaw, Sam and Eli loved their Easter Presents. Eli got out all of his other dinosaur "setups" and made a giant Dinosaur Valley in our livingroom. Sam really liked his Easter Bunny, he carried it around all afternoon, later he really got into kicking it! We love and miss everyone!

Letter of the Day!

I have been keeping up with Eli and his pre-k since we left Rocking Horse. I have to say I am really impressed at how much he loves to sit down and "play school" everyday where he calls me teacher. I know that Eli is smart but he surprises and impresses me everyday with his patients for learning and how he wants to learn more and more, he will be reading before we know it!

Today we matched the beginning sounds of pictures to the letters that they start with. Eli did this all by himself, I didn't have to help him at all!

Today's letter of the day was letter H! Didn't he do a good job writing his letter and coloring, he is really taking his time and trying to stay in the lines. I am really proud of him and how good he does with learning, he is like a little sponge taking it all in! :)

More from Honey Island Swamp

Here is more from the Honey Island Swamp tour.

This is Eli with Captain Charlie. He was our guide, he was very knowledgeable and funny!

These are some pictures of a few of the birds that we saw on the ride, The one that is hard to see is a hawk and the other is an Egret. I didn't take the picture of the Egret (just in case you couldn't tell)! :)

Enjoy some videos!

Such a fun day! I hope everyone enjoys watching Sam and Eli on their first Swamp Tour!

Honey Island Swamp Tour

Yesterday we took a little trip a few miles down the road to the Honey Island Swamp in Slidell. We loaded up on a flat bottom boat and headed down the Pearl River into the swamp. We saw lots of wildlife and had tons of fun. Eli was really into the snakes and alligators, Sam was more interested in the boat than anything else. I liked all of the birds. We saw Egrets, Cranes, Hawks, Nutrias, Alligators, Snakes, Craw fish, and lots more. We also learned a lot about the swamps. Pretty cool having this right down the road from us. Even though we saw 2 alligators they were both real small, the big daddy's are still hibernating right now. We might have to go back in the summer to see big Mo the 1500 pound alligator that lives near the docks. Here are some pictures and videos from the tour, my camera is not so great so you might have to play I Spy to see if you can find the animals :)

Here we go!

Here is where you get to play I Spy! Can you find the alligators hiding? How would you like to live in the house that has an alligator hanging out on the back deck? I know that Captain Charlie said that Alligators aren't aggressive like Crocodiles, but I still wouldn't like to mess with these guys (even if they are only 3 to 4 feet long)!

I will be fixing more videos and pictures and adding them soon! :)

Five in the morning fun!

At 4:30 this morning there was the pitter patter of little feet running around the house. Luckily Jody got up with him. Here is a little video Sam having some fun!

Thanks Aunt Corrie

Eli was having a great time playing with his Dinosaur Dig present from Aunt Corrie. He had to go to bathroom, I came around the corner to Eli's shrieks to find Sam having a even better time with Eli's dinosaur dig. He was literally throwing the sand up in the air. Let's just say it took me all day to clean that up. It's OK though I'm keeping my eyes out for the perfect birthday present for Walter... Moon Sand anyone?

Little Taste of What's to Come

Yesterday was a beautiful day here in Mandeville. It was sunny and the temperature was getting close to 80, but with the beauty came a little humidity. Check out Sam's curls after his nap. Guess I should have turned on the AC instead of opening the windows! :)

Blueberries and Libraries

Today was baby story time at the library. Eli did a great job being a big brother showing Sam the ropes of story time. Sam was more interested in running around the library!

Sam had his first experience with blueberries tonight... I think he likes them!

New to us

I had a job interview this morning and Jody is out of town at a training so we had our first experience with a babysitter! They did really well, it helps that the babysitter brought her four year old daughter with her... I don't think Eli even noticed I was gone, he finally had someone to play with again!

Here are a few things we've learned!

Swinging is fun, but it sure is hard work!

The backyard is alot of fun!

The pantry at Sam's level is fun for him... not so much for me!

Our First Week!

I hope this makes it a little easier for everyone to keep up with Eli and Sam! we had a busy first week in Mandeville... First off here is the house we are in right now.
